Minimum fare 25, launch fare increased by Rs
The Ministry of Shipping has issued a notification to increase the launch fare due to the increase in the price of fuel oil.
The notification was issued on Monday (November 8). According to the notification, the fare has been increased from 60 paisa to 2 taka 30 paisa per person for the first 100 km distance and 60 paisa per person has been increased to 2 taka for the distance beyond the first 100 km. Apart from this, the minimum fare per person has been increased from Tk 7 to Tk 25.
The revised fare will be effective from Monday (November 8), the notification said.

Earlier yesterday (November 7), the Road Transport and Highways Department of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges issued a notification to increase bus and minibus fares.
In the notification, the fare has been increased by 45 paise per kilometer for metro and minibuses and by 38 paise per kilometer for long distance. In the case of buses and minibuses plying on inter-district and long-distance routes, the maximum fare per kilometer per passenger has been increased from Tk 1 42 paise to Tk 1 80 paise.
In the case of buses and minibuses plying in Dhaka and Chittagong cities, the fare per kilometer has been increased from 1 taka 70 paisa to 2 taka 15 paisa and 1 taka 60 paisa to 2 taka 5 paisa respectively. The minimum fare for buses and minibuses has been increased from Tk 7 to Tk 10 respectively.
